About Institute

The great visionary Late Shri Jethabhai V. Patel; an industrialist and technocrat, visualized the need of the day way back in 1979. He ensured that the educational hub Vallabh Vidyanagar and the Industrial zone Vitthal Udyognagar are well-equipped so that the students from nearby villages can get the opportunity to learn and avail of technical training. With this noble objective, he established the GUJARAT AUDYOGIC VIKASH & VYAVSAYEE TALIM TRUST, KARAMSAD. (Formerly known as Gujarat Audyogic Vikas & Vyavsayi Talim Trust) The Trust was registered on 11/05/1979 under Bombay Public Trust Act No. F/177/Anand and Societies Registration Act Guj/149/Anand.

The premises consisting of eight rooms were rented from the Education Society, Karamsad which runs Sardar Patel High School. Sixty (60) students were admitted in the first batch of 1979 for Industrial Training consisting of Four Trades – Turner, Fitter, Welder, and Machinist.
In the year 1980, the Trust took a decision to construct its own new and large building on the gifted land measuring 16,196 Sq. Meters. donated by Shri J. V. Patel, a partner of J. V. Patel & Co. to accommodate an increased intake in the existing Trades and also for future expansion. The foundation stone was laid down by Shri Sumant J. Patel in October 1980.
The modern building was inaugurated on 9th November 1983 the LABH PANCHAM DAY by the then Honorable Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Madhavsinhji Solanki.
All the required machinery and equipment including lathes, planers, shapers, milling machines, grinding machines, electric and gas welding sets, welding generators, transformers, supporting hand tools, and precision measuring instruments were donated and installed by GMM, as part of its Rural Development program.
The institute has always had qualified and experienced instructors in their respective trades as its faculty.
Currently, around 300 students are studying at the institute.


OBJECTIVE
The objective of J.V. Patel ITI is to provide a platform and facilities to the children of nearby villages for the betterment of their lives. By taking admission to the Institute and completing the course by which eligible to get jobs in GIDC Units. On another hand, GIDC Units also get well trained & skilled workforce as per their needs.


THE OBJECTIVES OF J. V. PATEL INSTITUTE ARE
1) To ensure a steady flow of skilled labor in different trades of the industry.
2) To raise the quality and quantity of industrial production by systematic training of workers, and
3) To reduce unemployment among the educated youth by equipping them with suitable industrial equipment.


APPRENTICE & RECRUITMENT:
On completion of the course, the students are offered apprenticeships in the J. V. Patel Group of Industries and Vitthal Udyognagar. The close and continuing liaison between the institute and the industrial units in the area provides further job opportunities for better career prospects.
It may be added that we have been making efforts to the placement of successful trainees by conducting campus interviews. On selection, they are absorbed in the industrial units, government and semi-government bodies like –Tata at Sanand, L&T at Hazira, Anupam industries at Vitthal Udyognagar, GMM Pfaudler Ltd at Karamsad, IDMC at Vitthal Udhyognagar, NESCO(Indabrator Ltd) at Karamsad.
Our efforts have been goal oriented and pioneering in this sphere and we shall continue to strengthen them at an accelerated pace so that maximum benefits could flow out in terms of the employability of the trainees.
